Granicem L TR
Technical information
Toepassingsgebied
Granicem L TR covering can be used for renovation or on new buildings.
Granicem L TR coatings can be applied directly to the support surface, using the 'one-coat' technique.
Samenstelling
Granicem L TR is a blend of white Portland cement, aerated lime, lime sand, light mineral aggregates and additives.
Eigenschappen
Granicem L TR is a one-coat coloured covering, ready to mix, for waterproofing and decorating facades.
Granicem L TR is available in 48 colours (see colour chart). Any other colour is available on demand.
Voorbereiding ondergrond
Substrates must be stable, sound, clean and dust-free, and free of all traces of organic matter.
Granicem L TR can be applied directly onto the support surface.
Heterogeneous walls must have a prior coating of adhesive covering Cement'in C and smooth concretes should be given a prior treatment with Canti'plus Fixenduit or Canti'plus High-Grip.
For renovations, we recommend a prior treatment 7 days in advance with Cement'in C, Cement'in C+G or Cementin MEG to prepare the support surface.
In hot, windy or dry weather, substrates should be moistened a few hours before applying the coating. Porous or absorbent substrates should be moistened the day before.
When laying mortar, and during the hardening stage, the ambient temperature, as well as that of the support base, should be neither lower than +5°C nor higher than +30°C.
The coating should not be applied to a wall that is frozen, thawing or likely to freeze in the hours following application.
Voorbereiding mengsel
Mix in a trough, a concrete mixer or spraying machine.
Keep to a constant mixing time throughout the entire job and keep to the water dosage: 6.5 to 7.5 litres of water per 30 kg bag of Granicem L TR.
Use time: ± 1 hour
Mortar that has started to harden cannot be remixed or reused.

Application on masonry:
1. Sprayed looking and crushed looking finish
The minimum thickness of the first application should be 10 mm at all points of the covering.
This layer should be allowed to 'draw' to produce the grain, which should be obtained by spraying a second layer 3 to 5 mm thick. The crushed look is obtained by passing a flexible trowel over the crests of the coating when still fresh.
2. Scraped finish
Scraped look: Apply 1 or 2 coats of the covering with a total thickness of 15 mm, then smoothen, even and scrape with a plasterer's knife.
When the coating starts to harden, scrape uniformly using a pointed trowel or scraper. After finishing, the total thickness should be at least 12 mm.
3. Trowel finish
Spray on the first layer to a minimum thickness of 8 to 10mm. After a waiting period of ±2 hours, spray on a second layer to a thickness of ± 5 mm, then even and smooth with a plasterer's knife. As soon as the coating has hardened, finish it off with a trowel.
Applying to concrete or coverings:
The coating is now applied by way of decoration.
The final thickness will be 7 to 8 mm.
Whatever the appearance of the finish, there must be two applications on concrete.
Application must abide by the “general conditions for the application of one-coat waterproofing coverings” CSTB specification 2669-2.
